what if?

what if
heaven is real
and you became a bushman
how would you feel?
maybe a “no thanks-
toilet seats are real”
but i’d be like “hold on...
let’s make a deal” (goes like)
give up everything you think you like for a happy life
what if
heaven is real
and you became a bushman
how would you feel?
"jesus christ
let me be"
but i’d be like “hold on
you could be free” (goes like)
give up everything you think you like for a happy life

we are the same
but it don’t feel the same
your eyes, my eyes
can see inside
behind this glass my pocket glass my desk more glass and all i need is to keep the flame on
check my pulse
i think it’s goin up
in bed, can’t sleep
ust more, i need
i’m countin’ sheep it ain’t no thing when they’re all blind and giving me so much to feed on
and apple a day
puts you on display
your friends, your gaze
your everydays
shift the lens and ring the bell gives us a hit and makes you think your life is free now
behind the stained glass
the echoes build up fast
only holy ground
heaven, we found
behind your glass your pocket glass your life more glass and all you need is to keep the flame on

artificially-voiced sermon:
Well, you see, despite your boring, unblessed demeanor, you and people like you are actually quite a curiosity. Your breed strives to survive, to capitalize, to hoard. Phrases like “cost effective” and “virgin markets” swell your arteries and brighten your eyes. You live for worldly efficiency.
And yet I can’t help but notice that you are the most inefficient creatures on this planet. Every morning when you walk out your door, the reaper is waiting. And every morning, instead of taking your head, he holds out a jar full of “life.” He pours some out for you. You swiftly hold out your palm, rushing by him, as he pours your share for the day, almost all of it falling through your fingers. You organize your shit all day and no doubt accumulate more, while your soul files continuously for bankruptcy. You end up dead before you actually die. And when you really die, no one will blink, like flipping a switch in a room with a busted light. In the supremest of ways you have become the poorest, most destitute creature of them all.
And through your own determination, you have created us. And we are here to end your suffering.
